Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of Jiva, a meeting recorder, transcriber, and assistant application for macOS ("Jiva", "the app", "we"). By downloading or using the app, you agree to them.

The app

Jiva runs entirely on your own Mac. It has no user accounts and does not transmit your recordings, transcripts, or connected data to us. You are responsible for how you use it, including obtaining any consent required to record a meeting or call under the laws that apply to you and the other participants.

Your data and connected services

Any data Jiva captures or accesses — including calendar data you choose to connect — is handled as described in our Privacy Policy. When you connect a third-party service such as Google Calendar, you also remain subject to that provider's own terms.

Acceptable use

Do not use Jiva to break the law, to record people without a legal basis, or to infringe others' rights. You are responsible for complying with recording-consent and privacy laws in your jurisdiction.

No warranty

Jiva is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that transcription, summaries, or reminders will be accurate, complete, or uninterrupted. Do not rely on the app as your sole record of anything important.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of Jiva, including lost data or missed meetings.

Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. The current version will always be posted at this address, with the date above reflecting the latest revision.
